In oder to use passkeys, you must be using a supported device and a supported browser.
Example using Passkeys
- Attempt to log in to an account on a website that has passkeys implemented.
The website used in this example is GitHub on Safari. - Enter your username and passwords for the website if this is your first time using a passkey.
- After entering your credentials, you will be asked whether you would like to use a passkey.
Click on the the button indicating to use a passkey or “security key.”
You will be instructed to use biometrics to use the stored passkey or to initialize the passkey.
After verifying your passkey with biometrics, you will be redirected to your home page.
Log out and repeat process if this was the first time using passkeys to log in to an account.
